About the position

The Oregon State Police is seeking a full-time Administrative Specialist 1 for the Patrol Service Division in Salem, Oregon. This role involves providing administrative, operational, and program support to ensure the division meets its goals and objectives. The position requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Patrol Services Division operations and programs.
  • Draft correspondence and create reports as needed.
  • Gather statistical data and assist with budget documents.
  • Prioritize daily and weekly workload to meet business expectations and timelines.
  • Work independently to fulfill office expectations with high accuracy.

Requirements

  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience including records processing and document generation; OR an associate degree in general office occupations and one year of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with no limitations.
  • Must be LEDS certified at the Inquiry and Entry level or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing professional correspondence with correct structure and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including working with databases and auditing reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service in challenging circumstances.
