About the position

The Administrative Specialist 2 Confidential position within the Human Resources Division of the New Jersey Courts involves providing essential HR guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees. The role focuses on recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and maintaining database integrity, all while ensuring compliance with Judiciary policies and procedures. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with the potential for remote work, emphasizing the importance of customer service and effective communication in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Human Resource guidance and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Assist in recruitment and selection processes.
  • Maintain database integrity and manage classification and compensation.
  • Process regular and supplemental payroll.
  • Support employee relations initiatives and advise management on personnel issues.
  • Implement operating procedures and establish record-keeping systems.
  • Compose correspondence and prepare statistical reports.
  • Process transactions in PMIS, JHRIS, and JLMS.
  • Interpret Judiciary policies, regulations, and bargaining unit agreements and communicate this information effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 year of relevant professional experience, or an associate's degree with 2 years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Judiciary policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license in New Jersey if vehicle operation is necessary for the job.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Human Resources role within a governmental or judicial context.
  • Familiarity with PMIS, JHRIS, and JLMS systems.
