About the position

The Administrative Specialist 3 position within the Human Resources Division of the New Jersey Judiciary is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and support in various HR functions. The role involves recruitment, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position also includes responsibilities for training staff, managing HR information systems, and ensuring the integrity of HR data. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid environment, with the potential for remote work, and will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general human resources functions such as recruitment and selection, leave and benefit management, and payroll processing.
  • Maintain database integrity and manage classification and compensation processes.
  • Process accurate transactions and utilize various HR information systems.
  • Assist in the collection of materials related to employee discipline and grievance issues.
  • Train and coordinate the work activities of divisional staff, acting as a lead worker and expert user within the division.
  • Prepare and analyze statistical reports and develop procedures for efficient operations.
  • Compose complex and routine correspondence and establish working relationships with state agencies and outside organizations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three years of professional experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, or related fields.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, and superior computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret Judiciary policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in labor/employee relations and training.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
