About the position

The Administrative Specialist II position within the Parks Operations of Cobb County Government is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the department. This role serves as a liaison between various departments and the public, ensuring effective communication and documentation management. The specialist will handle customer service inquiries, process purchasing documentation, maintain schedules, and assist with various administrative tasks to support the operations of the Parks department.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the assigned department and other departments/divisions, staff members, County officials, and the public.
  • Distribute and deliver incoming faxes, mail, and other documentation to appropriate personnel.
  • Type, prepare, proofread, and complete various forms, reports, and correspondence.
  • Provide administrative support for management and staff, including screening communications and maintaining calendars.
  • Process purchasing documentation and verify availability of budgeted funds.
  • Perform customer service functions, providing information and assistance regarding department services.
  • Maintain a calendar of activities for the assigned manager and schedule appointments and meetings.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and conference registrations for department staff.
  • Process a variety of documentation associated with department operations within designated timeframes.
  • Perform data entry functions and maintain records regarding department activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of clerical, administrative support, secretarial, customer service, or record management experience.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary of $37,331.32 per year.
