About the position

The Administrative Support and Business Process Manager is a key leadership role within the Office of Health Workforce Development (OHWD) at the Department of Health Care Access and Information. This position is responsible for overseeing administrative support functions and managing critical business systems, including Microsoft Dynamics and budgeting systems. The incumbent will advise the Deputy Director on operational matters, ensuring efficient delivery of services and implementing policies to enhance business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administrative support functions of the Office of Health Workforce Development (OHWD).
  • Serve as the business process manager for critical business systems, including Microsoft Dynamics and budgeting systems.
  • Advise the Deputy Director on operational and administrative matters.
  • Oversee the Operations Section, ensuring effective delivery of administrative services.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities of section staff in various functions including human resources, training, accounting, and procurement.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate administrative and business process policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Chief Information Officer and Section Chiefs to ensure proper operation of electronic grant systems.
  • Streamline execution of program priorities while maintaining program integrity.
  • Oversee policy and grants sections responsible for OHWD programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in administrative or managerial leadership planning, organizing, and directing complex statewide program operations.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert for automation projects and information systems enhancements.
  • Experience in implementing strategic planning and performance measures to increase program performance.
  • Experience as a principal advisor to executive management and government agencies.
  • Experience in making sound decisions on sensitive and complex mission-critical matters.
  • Experience in bringing together diverse individuals and organizations to develop policy and strategy.
