About the position

The Administrative Support Specialist II position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the department operations within the Community Schools of Columbus Consolidated Government. This role involves maintaining files, performing data entry, managing park rental records, and assisting with payroll and personnel data. The position requires a strong understanding of office administration and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties in support of department operations.
  • Maintain department files and records.
  • Perform data entry duties; enter, track, and update data.
  • Answer the office telephone and assist patrons with park rentals.
  • Maintain records of park rental receipts and type weekly rental list.
  • Enter payroll and personnel data as needed.
  • Manage division enrollment through an online system.
  • Process incoming work orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office administration.
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment including work-related computer applications.
