About the position

The Administrative Support Worker at Shenandoah University is responsible for providing essential administrative assistance to management, including tasks such as ordering supplies, data entry, and filing. This role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, visitors, and employees. The position may involve various responsibilities that can change based on client requirements and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative functions including distributing mail, ordering, and stocking supplies.
  • Assist unit management with clerical tasks related to accounting, payroll, receiving, and/or human resources.
  • Greet customers, clients, and employees; answer inquiries or direct calls as necessary.
  • Maintain office memos and informative postings.
  • Operate technology, systems, and software such as voicemail systems, copy/scanners, personal computers, and MS Office.

Requirements

  • Prior administrative experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Requires frequent performance of repetitive motions with hands and/or arms.
