About the position

The Administrator in Training (AIT) position at Nexcare WellBridge Senior Living is a unique opportunity designed for individuals who aspire to become Executive Directors in the healthcare sector, specifically within skilled nursing facilities. This role requires a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license issued for the state of Michigan. The AIT will participate in the Executive Director in Training (EDIT) program, which is structured to cultivate future leaders by providing them with comprehensive training and hands-on experience across various operational areas. The program emphasizes the importance of effective leadership in maintaining the culture of excellence that Nexcare WellBridge is known for in rehabilitation services. Throughout the EDIT program, participants will engage in diverse experiences and receive mentorship from seasoned leaders within the organization. The training will cover essential aspects of facility management, including operations, clinical services, rehabilitation services, administration, food services, maintenance, financial management, and regulatory compliance. The primary objective of the AIT role is to ensure quality care for residents while achieving business and financial profitability for the facility. Participants will learn to manage daily operations, adhere to policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Upon successful completion of the EDIT program, the AIT will transition into the role of Executive Director, responsible for the overall management of a facility. This includes planning, developing, directing, monitoring, and supporting all operational, administrative, clinical, guest relations, and fiscal activities. The AIT will also work on special improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational and financial practices, ensuring an outstanding guest experience throughout the training process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and administration of assigned tasks to maintain quality care for residents.
  • Train and learn to manage daily operations, policy and procedure adherence, regulatory compliance, and facility maintenance.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license issued for the state of Michigan.
  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred, with a focus on Public Health Administration or Business Administration being advantageous.
  • Minimal gaps in work history with a career path showing increased job responsibilities.
  • Possess a superior work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Outstanding people skills to engage and connect with guests, families, employees, and leadership.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to handle conflict, problems, and emergency situations effectively.
  • Flexibility to work rotating weekends, some holidays, and evenings as required by the facility.
