About the position

The Administrator of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of a comprehensive human resources program within the Department of Corrections. This role involves developing and implementing policies, providing training, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws related to human resources management. The position requires strategic planning and collaboration with department managers to address HR-related issues and improve practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and management of the department's human resources program.
  • Analyze current HR practices and plan for future program direction.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain uniform HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws affecting HR management.
  • Deliver training and guidelines relevant to HR policies and procedures.
  • Consult with department managers to resolve HR-related issues.
  • Produce management information and reports to facilitate decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Four years of professional-level experience in human resource management.
  • Two years of professional supervisory experience in human resource management.
