About the position

The Deputy Regional Director for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Child Support Services Division is responsible for overseeing the delivery of child support services in the Springfield office. This role involves ensuring performance goals are met, developing strategic plans, and fostering a collaborative work environment to enhance the well-being of children by partnering with parents and caregivers. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to monitor and improve business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of child support services and ensure performance goals are met.
  • Work with the Regional Director to develop annual business plans and strategies for the CSS program.
  • Oversee regional case management, service of process, and case conferencing processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement project plans and metrics to track performance against goals.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment among staff and departments.
  • Develop professional development plans for staff as part of performance evaluations.
  • Serve as a model for leadership and empower staff to perform at their best.
  • Promote a diverse workforce and maintain an inclusive workplace.
  • Develop partnerships with state agencies and community resources to support CSS mission.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of professional experience in business administration, management, or public administration.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a project management, supervisory, or managerial capacity.
  • Ability to lead in a results-driven environment and set clear expectations for productivity and quality.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills to link agency goals with operational objectives.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and unity among employees.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and organizational needs.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to understand customer needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in child support services or related fields.
  • Knowledge of state and federal child support laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and performance metrics.
