About the position

Conquest Healthcare Management LLC is seeking a full-time experienced Administrator for our El Paso Facility. The Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and implementing effective programs and activities that enhance the quality of care provided to residents. The ideal candidate will possess a valid, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator's license in the state and have a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or a related field. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, is required. The Administrator will work closely with the Director of Nursing and department heads to identify key performance indicators and monitor outcomes to ensure regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. The role involves planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the facility's programs and activities. The Administrator will also be responsible for maintaining the fiscal health of the facility, developing occupancy management strategies, and serving as the facility's representative to the public. Strong communication skills are essential, as the Administrator will need to convey information effectively to a diverse audience. The position requires the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, employees, and family members through regular interactions and open communication. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Administrator will lead management team meetings, evaluate department heads' performance, and ensure that staff members are competent in their roles. The Administrator will also be involved in budget development, financial compliance meetings, and will provide reports and recommendations to the governing board regarding the facility's operations. The role requires a commitment to delivering compassionate quality care and promoting a safe and respectful work environment for all staff and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operation of the facility and its programs and activities in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Identifies key performance indicators in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and department heads.
  • Establishes a system to monitor key indicators such as Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement processes.
  • Evaluates key performance indicator outcomes with department heads to determine necessary actions for improvement.
  • Develops and implements processes to maintain the fiscal health of the facility.
  • Serves as the facility representative and spokesperson to the public and professional arenas.
  • Leads and coordinates management team meetings to discuss priorities and develop solutions.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with residents, employees, and family members through scheduled interactions.
  • Evaluates work performance of department heads and maintains accountability across all departments.
  • Facilitates participation in various committees of the facility as necessary.
  • Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care across an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhanced services to residents and resolves issues collaboratively.
  • Recruits qualified individuals for department head positions in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Conducts rounds to observe residents and ensure their needs are met.
  • Practices management by walking around and maintains an open door policy for employees.
  • Conducts periodic observations of in-service education to ensure staff competency.
  • Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication among staff.
  • Leads budget development with department heads bi-annually and ensures financial goals are met.
  • Reviews and interprets monthly financial statements and provides relevant information to the governing board.
  • Leads facility readiness related to health inspection surveys and ensures timely follow-up on survey issues.
  • Communicates directly with residents, medical and nursing staff, and family members to coordinate care and services.
  • Responds to and resolves complaints and concerns as necessary.
  • Manages facility risk through a team approach to achieve desired outcomes in customer service and employee retention.
  • Coordinates with the facility's liability insurance carrier and legal representative in case of litigation.
  • Stays informed regarding regulatory and business practice changes influencing facility outcomes.

Requirements

  • A valid, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator's license in the state.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
