The Administrator in Training (AIT) program at Pennant Washington is designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Skilled Nursing Home Administrator. This full-time, intensive on-the-job training program provides practical experience in a nursing home under the supervision of an experienced Administrator mentor. The program includes rotations through various departments, education on regulatory requirements, and business management principles, preparing candidates for a career as a health care executive.
Responsibilities
- Receive practical on-the-job training in a nursing home under the supervision of an experienced Administrator mentor.
- Rotate through various departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility.
- Learn about the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies.
- Study regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility.
- Gain knowledge in business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance.
Requirements
- MBA or MHA preferred, but other advanced degrees or a bachelor's degree will be considered.
- Must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in the state of intended residence.
- Prior business management experience preferred.
- Passion for serving and protecting the frail, sick, and elderly.
- Professional and tactful demeanor to effectively deal with personnel, residents/patients, family members, and government agencies.
