About the position

The Admission Counselor for the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) plays a crucial role in guiding prospective students and their families through the application, audition, and enrollment processes. This position involves meeting with students, families, and faculty to assess fit and eligibility, discuss academic and artistic offerings, and inform individuals about the Roosevelt/CCPA student experience. The counselor will be responsible for traveling to attend both in-person and virtual events aimed at recruiting prospective students, reviewing applications for admission, and organizing and executing admission audition scheduling. As a public face of the recruitment efforts for CCPA, the counselor will work closely with faculty and is one of three staff members responsible for recruitment travel, overseeing the application process for over 300 applicants. The CCPA Enrollment Staff also serve as an initial point of contact for post-admission processes, supplementing other offices such as Financial Aid Services, Housing & Residence Life, Academic Advising, and other student support services. The Admission Counselor is encouraged to work both collaboratively and independently, developing strategies specific to their assigned areas, particularly for Interdisciplinary and BA double major applicants, to enhance the overall matriculation of admitted students. This position reports directly to the CCPA Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and operates in a hybrid modality, requiring an average of 2-3 days onsite per week, with travel and some evening and weekend commitments.
