About the position

The Admission Counselor at Lasell University plays a crucial role in the recruitment and admission process, focusing on engaging with prospective students and families. This position involves extensive travel for recruitment events, counseling applicants, and conducting application reviews, all while representing the university professionally. The counselor will work collaboratively within the admissions team to meet enrollment goals and provide comprehensive information about the college's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of the admission and recruitment process.
  • Conduct fall and spring domestic recruitment travel including high school and community college visits, college fairs, area receptions, and events.
  • Counsel prospective students and families throughout the college application and selection process.
  • Assist guidance professionals, faculty, alumni/ae, and prospective students and families to understand the college's mission through interviews and presentations.
  • Conduct thorough application reviews and provide timely admission decisions.
  • Assist in recruitment-related events on- and off-campus, representing the college professionally.
  • Manage a recruitment territory to achieve enrollment goals for the College.
  • Provide timely information to students about the admission process, financial aid, academic programs, and student experience.
  • Follow up with students and parents via phone, text, letters, and email.
  • Meet departmental goals for inquiries, applications, admitted, and enrolled students.
  • Conduct admission presentations and interviews during events.
  • Complete routine reports related to recruitment and personal schedule.
  • Work with current students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders to support recruitment efforts.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the enrollment program by performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role within higher education or related industry.
  • Knowledge of Slate by Technolutions and MS Professional software packages preferred.
  • Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License for one year, with a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with international student or transfer student recruitment.
