About the position

The Admission User Experience and Web Designer will support the Undergraduate Admissions Office at the University of New Hampshire by providing technical expertise in web design and development. This role focuses on creating and maintaining web pages, CRM forms, admissions portals, and HTML emails to enhance user experience across various digital platforms, particularly the Slate Technolutions application.

Responsibilities

• Design and create web pages and components for the admissions website.
• Develop CRM forms and admissions portals to streamline user interactions.
• Ensure a seamless user experience across multiple platforms including Slate Technolutions and other digital communications.
• Collaborate with the Undergraduate Admissions Office to support recruitment and enrollment efforts.
• Utilize HTML/CSS and JavaScript to develop modern, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible websites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in web design and development.
• Proficiency with HTML5, including semantic HTML5 elements.
• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as Sass, Less, or Stylus.
• Working knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
• Experience administering a Slate environment.
• Knowledge of Drupal or similar content management systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in communications and/or marketing in higher education or related fields.
• Experience using scripting languages to automate recurring manual processes.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
