About the position

The Admissions Advisor-Recruiter at Jefferson Community and Technical College is responsible for recruiting high school students and non-traditional students, advising potential applicants on the admissions process, and maintaining communication with prospective students. This role involves participating in recruitment events, providing campus tours, and assisting students with scholarship applications, all while fostering relationships with educational institutions and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Focused recruitment of high school students and participation in recruitment opportunities for transfer and non-traditional students.
  • Participating in college and career fairs and recruiting events at local high schools and other locations.
  • Scheduling and hosting Admissions presentations and Application Squads at high schools.
  • Advising potential applicants on the Admissions process and following up on inquiries.
  • Maintaining communication with prospective students using CRM tools and web-based services.
  • Helping students apply for scholarships and guiding them through the application process.
  • Providing campus tours to groups and individuals, focusing on large group tours for high schools.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with high school and university personnel.
  • Preparing student records for events like Welcome Days and Registration & Advising Days.
  • Facilitating on-campus outreach events such as Open House and Express Enrollment.
  • Serving on college-wide committees related to orientation and student success.
  • Assisting with account updates and processing high school transcripts and test scores.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Counseling or Student Affairs or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work and events.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in public speaking, conducting tours, or college admissions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, coordinating, and personal interface skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
