About the position

The Admissions Advisor role involves engaging with prospective students to assist them in their decision-making process regarding school enrollment. This position requires effective communication of the school's philosophy, programs, and tuition, while advocating for the prospective students. The role is crucial in guiding students through the admissions process and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts interviews with prospective students to evaluate their needs, interests, and qualifications.
  • Provides clear and concise information to help prospective students make informed decisions about attending the school.
  • Presents information regarding the school's programs and tuition in a factual and ethical manner.
  • Achieves expected goals and objectives based on quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Assists prospective students through the admissions process in accordance with federal and state regulations, school policies, and accrediting standards.
  • Facilitates and processes enrollment, sets proper expectations, and provides information about new student orientation and class start dates.
  • Adheres to daily queue and/or outlined schedule.
  • Operates within the school's expected behaviors and upholds all policies, procedures, integrity, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Demonstrable organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to achieve success individually and as part of a team in a highly structured and regulated work environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly over the phone, and good written communication skills.
  • Persistence combined with a positive attitude and self-motivating work style.
  • Ability to learn and discuss the merits of specific school programs to match prospective students' needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant sales and/or customer service experience, preferably in relationship and/or consultative sales.
  • Post-secondary admissions experience.
