About the position

The Admissions and Recruiting Specialist at Memphis College of Urban & Theological Studies (MCUTS) is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, from application to enrollment. This role involves developing and executing recruitment strategies for various programs, advising potential students, and representing the institution at various events. The specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the university's image and ensuring a positive experience for prospective students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the strategic development and coordination of recruiting efforts for various degree and certificate programs.
  • Assist the Associate Dean for Assessment and Reporting with strategic planning for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a recruitment strategy.
  • Identify and recruit potential students for enrollment at MCUTS.
  • Collect and review prospective student applications and corresponding documents, including transcripts and FAFSA.
  • Access student data related to the application, award, and administration of financial aid, ensuring confidentiality as outlined in the University's FERPA policy.
  • Counsel prospective and current applicants on the admission process and opportunities at MCUTS through various communication methods.
  • Assist in the management of ongoing strategic communications with high schools, churches, and prospective students.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of promotional materials about MCUTS academic programs.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of New Student Orientation and other recruitment programs.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the successful execution of prospective student visits to campus.
  • Represent MCUTS at events and functions to recruit potential students, which may involve extensive travel.
  • Seek networking opportunities to build relationships that will expand Union's influence in new student markets.
  • Represent the University and College in a professional and intentionally Christian manner.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Relevant work and/or life experience that demonstrates successful recruitment.
  • A passion for Christian higher education and a strong personal commitment to Christ.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • A high degree of initiative and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and other office technology.
