About the position

The Admissions Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth admission process for patients at a premier nursing facility. This position involves assisting with patient transfers, scheduling, and providing a positive experience for all involved. The Admissions Assistant will also handle referrals, verify insurance, and perform general office duties, all while embodying the facility's mission of serving others and promoting individual well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews referrals and assists with patient/guardian interviews to secure necessary information for admissions.
  • Answers phones and inquiries regarding the admissions process.
  • Ensures that rooms are ready for incoming patients/residents.
  • Welcomes new patients/residents, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Maintains an accurate count of available beds and updates the list of residents and their assigned rooms.
  • Admits, transfers, and discharges residents in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Reviews and explains admission information packets to new residents.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing home and/or business language and technology.
  • Computer skills for clinical documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to multi-task and treat everyone kindly and professionally.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven customer service or professional/emotional maturity training or experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, following procedures and guidelines.
