About the position

Gateway Homes is seeking an Admissions Assistant to support the admissions process for various DBHDS funded facilities and the Supervised Living Apartments on the Chesterfield campus. This role involves managing admissions, coordinating with various stakeholders, and providing clerical support for client records. The Admissions Assistant will report to the Director of Admissions and Forensic Services and will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth admissions and continued care for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the admission process for all DBHDS funded sites throughout Virginia.
  • Manages the admission process for the Supportive Living Apartments on the Chesterfield campus.
  • Builds relationships with governmental agencies, DBHDS, CSB, and local jails.
  • Ensures all family calls and emails are returned regarding inquiries about Gateway.
  • Coordinates admissions and continued care with clients by interfacing with DBHDS, state hospitals, and CSB.
  • Acts as a liaison between Gateway and CSBs to keep them informed about client progress.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Coordinates all client tours on the Chesterfield campus.
  • Maintains a spreadsheet of all DBHDS contract beds.
  • Keeps current with all mandatory training requirements.
  • Coordinates intake and financial arrangements for all civil clients.
  • Provides clerical support for client records, including collecting, uploading, and completing written documents.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, Human Services, Social Work or equivalent.
  • CPR Certification.
  • QMHP Certification.
  • Mid-level Driver's License.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Strong organizational skills and enhanced computer skills.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn mental health service delivery and related regulatory requirements.

  • Medication Aid Certified.
  • TOVA certified.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Capacity to work with mentally ill adults and their families.
