About the position

The Admissions Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program is responsible for coordinating and assisting with admissions activities to ensure the matriculation of qualified candidates. This role involves maintaining knowledge of accreditation standards, preparing admissions data reports, and collaborating with faculty to manage the online applicant interface. The coordinator will also communicate with prospective students and manage the applicant review process while ensuring fairness and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and assists with admissions activities for the PA Program.
  • Maintains knowledge of accreditation standards related to PA admissions.
  • Prepares admissions data reports for monitoring and assessment of the admissions process.
  • Works with faculty to develop, maintain, and update the online applicant interface using CASPA, Canvas, and other platforms.
  • Corresponds with potential students, applicants, and current students regarding application and matriculation requirements.
  • Communicates with third-party resources related to candidate recruitment, evaluation, and retention.
  • Implements assigned components of the applicant review process and ensures accurate reporting of applicant information.
  • Ensures fairness in recruiting and selection of applicants, soliciting input from relevant faculty and staff.
  • Sends requests for program-required application materials to qualified candidates and grants extensions as per policy.
  • Receives, deposits, and tracks supplemental application fees.
  • Assists with coordination of all interview sessions.
  • Maintains a welcoming and honest approach to prospective students, ensuring fair treatment of all applicants.
  • Verifies the accuracy of public announcements and advertising concerning the admissions process.
  • Serves as a liaison with other departments on administrative matters related to admissions.
  • Assists with student-centered events for prospective and current students.
  • Establishes, maintains, processes, and updates confidential files and records.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in healthcare or with previous admissions experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with admissions processes in higher education.
  • Familiarity with CASPA and other admissions platforms.
