About the position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an Admissions Counselor-Florida Regional Recruiter to enhance student recruitment efforts for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This role involves managing a recruitment territory in Florida, serving as the primary contact for local high school counselors and students, and coordinating recruitment events to meet enrollment objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as UAB admissions recruiter in Florida and other secondary territories.
  • Oversee student recruitment in assigned territory.
  • Attend college fairs and conduct high school visits to meet with prospective students.
  • Coordinate prospective student and counselor events across assigned territory in key markets.
  • Act as the primary contact with local high school counselors and coordinate recruiting efforts with local UAB alumni chapters.
  • Travel to Birmingham occasionally for staff training and on-campus recruitment events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Counseling, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of related experience in student recruitment, university admissions, communications, marketing, public relations, and/or counseling.
  • Valid driver's license issued in the United States.
