About the position

The Admissions Counselor at Grand Canyon Education plays a crucial role in guiding prospective students through the enrollment process for online degree programs. This position serves as the first point of contact for potential students, providing them with the necessary information and support to successfully navigate their educational journey. The role combines strategic outreach, relationship building, and exceptional service to ensure student success and institutional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to new and prospective online students through a phone campaign strategy, making 100+ dials and achieving 3+ hours of talk time per day.
  • Introduce new students to the online classroom environment and maintain detailed and accurate records of student information while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students through various communication mediums, including phone, email, and text.
  • Guide prospective students through the admissions process by clearly communicating program requirements, transfer credits, payment options, time commitment, technology requirements, and student support services.
  • Meet performance goals and generate referral activities as part of a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with related work experience will be considered.
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in the credit report.
  • Outstanding time management skills to prioritize competing priorities effectively.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with well-developed listening and follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivation and a drive to succeed, taking ownership of interactions with students.
  • High emotional intelligence to coach a diverse range of students with unique circumstances.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Relevant industry-related professional experience.
  • Experience working with CRM tools.
  • Prior call center experience.
