About the position

The Admissions Counselor for the Online Division at Grand Canyon University plays a crucial role in guiding prospective students through the enrollment process for online degree programs. This position serves as the first point of contact for potential students, helping them navigate their educational journey and ensuring they have the necessary support and information to succeed. The role combines outreach, relationship-building, and administrative tasks to facilitate student enrollment and success.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to new and prospective online students through a phone campaign strategy, making over 100 dials and achieving 3+ hours of talk time daily.
  • Introduce new students to the online classroom environment and maintain detailed and accurate records of student information while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students through various communication mediums, promoting Grand Canyon University and its mission.
  • Guide prospective students through the admissions process by clearly communicating program requirements, transfer credits, payment options, time commitments, technology requirements, and student support services.
  • Meet performance goals and generate referral activities as part of a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; related work experience may be considered.
  • No delinquent or defaulted federal student loans as verified in the credit report.
  • Outstanding time management skills to prioritize competing priorities effectively.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with well-developed listening and follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivation and a drive to succeed, taking ownership of interactions with students.
  • High emotional intelligence to coach a diverse range of students with unique circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience working with CRM tools.
  • Prior call center experience.
