Sweet Briar is a liberal arts college for women with a long history of forging female leaders. Sweet Briar College is repeatedly named by the US News and World Report as one of the most innovative liberal arts colleges in the nation. Sweet Briar College is growing rapidly, attracting students who are drawn to it for its excellent liberal arts program, coupled with distinctive programs in women leadership, engineering, sustainability, arts and its legendary equestrian program. Its finances are robust, and validated by balanced budget and positive bond ratings. Located in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains approximately 12 miles north of Lynchburg and 54 miles south of Charlottesville. Its campus is one of the nation's most spectacular, replete with nature sanctuaries, lakes, forests, trails, and most recently, vineyards, apiary and greenhouses. The College boasts a modern core curriculum focused on women's leadership in the 21st century and undergraduate programs in the arts, sciences and humanities, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 8 to 1, students lead research, ask questions and forge supportive relationships with faculty that can last for decades. Position Type/Expected Work Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, flexible for events and special projects on nights and weekends as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Essential Responsibilities: * Recruit prospective students for enrollment at Sweet Briar * Cultivate and build relationships with students and families through personal contact by phone, text, email, and in-person * Represent the College at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events * Manage a geographic territory using our CRM, including planning your travel schedule and strategy * Conduct informational sessions for internal and external audiences, including prospective students, their parents, and high school guidance counselors * Cultivate relationships with secondary or university personnel, professional organizations, students, parents, and alumnae * Participate in appropriate recruitment and enrollment activities, including Open Houses, Scholars events, Accepted Student Days, regional presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, on-campus tours, on-campus conversations with visiting families, etc. * Track data in various campus software CRMs Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * Six months - one year of customer service, marketing, sales, or similar experience * Valid Driver's license and insurability * Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills * Highly motivated to work both independently and with a team * Goal-oriented and highly ethical * Strong expertise with Google Suite, Zoom, and MS Office, as well as other related software packages and systems for reporting features * Commitment to the education of young women and the long-term sustainability of the College Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office or school, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess. Physical Demands: * Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks and seated work. * Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds * Stand for extended periods during fairs and specified events. Travel: Local and overnight travel is required 30-35% of the time, and travel periods can be heavy at times.
