About the position

The Admissions Counselor at William Jessup University is responsible for recruiting undergraduate and graduate students by responding to inquiries, nurturing relationships, and converting prospects into enrolled students. This role involves a mix of on-campus and potential remote work, with a focus on meeting enrollment goals through effective communication and relationship-building with prospective students and educational institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Generate inquiries through recruiting activities including working fairs and community events.
  • Nurture relationships with high school counselors and students via visits and communication.
  • Respond to inquiries immediately, or within a maximum of 2 hours, to convert qualified inquiries into enrolled students.
  • Maintain a personal database of past inquiries using the office CRM to create opportunities for enrollment.
  • Manage all inquiries, record interactions, and create recruiting opportunities through the office CRM.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty regarding the status of recruits and applicants.
  • Create a trusted advisor relationship with inquiries and efficiently move them through the enrollment funnel.
  • Maintain high contact frequency with inquiries and applicants to facilitate enrollment.
  • Participate in on-campus recruiting events including information sessions and campus tours.
  • Support other degree programs in the admission cycle as needed.
  • Meet set goals each term and be measured on conversion rates and enrollment goals.
  • Occasional travel for recruiting purposes and working evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Participate in sales training and professional development as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong background in modern sales performance skills, preferably B2C.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Familiarity with higher education recruiting practices and CRM software.
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service with tailored solutions leading to sales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education recruiting practices.
  • Familiarity with higher education-specific CRM software.
