About the position

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting prospective students and their families through effective communication and organizational skills. This role involves managing the admissions process, conducting recruitment events, and maintaining relationships with high schools and colleges. The counselor will work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to meet recruitment goals and engage with potential applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with on and off-campus recruitment events such as Open House Events and receptions for prospective student families and school counselors.
  • Review applications for admission and make admission decisions.
  • Deliver dynamic presentations to individuals and groups interested in St. Andrews.
  • Travel to college fairs and other recruitment events.
  • Implement prospect management within assigned territory.
  • Identify and guide students most likely to apply and enroll through the admissions process.
  • Manage the full admissions funnel for assigned territory, including inquiries, applicants, accepted, and deposited students.
  • Meet established enrollment goals through a strategic marketing plan.
  • Reach out to inquiries and monitor application and deposit numbers from the territory.
  • Develop strategies to maintain contact with feeder colleges.
  • Attend all Open House and special events, engaging prospective students and families.
  • Assist with special projects or assignments as requested by the Vice President of Enrollment Management or Associate Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting or admissions processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain organization of reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of computer and database skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for recruitment events.
