About the position

The Admissions Operations Analyst at Ohio University plays a crucial role in supporting the Undergraduate Admissions team by developing business processes and analyzing systems related to admissions application processing and transfer credit. This position involves collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance with university policies and to enhance the functionality of application and transfer credit systems. The analyst will also assist in executing admissions functions, including communication generation and quality assurance, while having the flexibility to work remotely up to two days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the testing and maintenance of the admission and transfer credit database for new technological processes and improvements.
  • Evaluate business processes and provide recommendations for system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation pertaining to systems and daily procedures.
  • Administer day-to-day quality assurance efforts of admission and transfer credit data to ensure compliance with University and state policy.
  • Facilitate the duplicate record resolution process on behalf of all University admitting centers.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department's Communication Generation process used to communicate official admission decisions to applicants.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistency and compliance of the transfer credit database.
  • Maintain and run daily batch jobs in the student information system to load applicant data and post transfer credit data.
  • Review and confirm admission decision recommendations using established guidelines and technology.
  • Manage complex data discrepancies related to admission status and posting of transfer credit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field conferred by start date.
  • Minimum of one year of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of admissions processing, transfer articulation, and statewide policies regarding admission and transfer credit.
  • Experience with large and complex database applications.
  • Ability to interpret University policy and recruitment standards.
  • Proficiency in operating complex, integrated software solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, OnBase, OBI, Technolutions Slate, and Microsoft Office.
