Requirements

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by 2 years of college level course work in business administration or a related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible office experience, including two years in a college admissions and records experience.
  • Knowledge of principles of lead supervision and training.
  • Understanding of the organization and operations of an admissions and records office.
  • Familiarity with applicable sections of State Education Code and other laws related to admissions and registration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, train, and review the work of staff responsible for conducting student admission and registration activities.
  • Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Monitor registration processes and assist in resolving course registration issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource in the implementation of software programs for admissions and registration.
  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of hourly, student, and temporary personnel.
  • Process instructor initiated drops, petitions for re-enrollment, and late adds.
  • Collect and process incomplete grades and grade changes; adjust student transcripts accordingly.
  • Distribute and process attendance and grade sheets; ensure proper completion.
  • Assume responsibility for grade, census, and positive attendance reporting.
  • Maintain student tuition payment plans and notify students of account discrepancies.
  • Establish working relationships with law enforcement and other entities for compliance purposes.
  • Prepare personnel background checks and security investigations.
  • Provide training for the online attendance and grade reporting system.
  • Compose and prepare correspondence to faculty and administrators.
  • Assist in the preparation of various reports and ensure timely submission.
  • Research and prepare responses to civil and state subpoenas.
  • Operate and use a variety of office equipment and specialized software applications.
  • Represent the College at promotional events and meetings.
  • Coordinate Admissions and Records services with other College departments.
