About the position

The Admissions Recruiter at LifeSkills Connection, Inc. is responsible for conducting outreach, recruitment, eligibility determination, and admissions processes for the Cascades Job Corps program, which serves underprivileged youth aged 16-24. This role involves engaging with community organizations, schools, and potential candidates to promote the program and ensure compliance with government directives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct innovative outreach activities with public service agencies, community organizations, schools, and individuals to refer eligible candidates to the Job Corps program.
  • Interview interested candidates and obtain pertinent information on each one.
  • Prepare documentation on potential students and review with the center as applicable or necessary.
  • Provide orientation for prospects, clearly communicating the Job Corps program and expectations for students.
  • Schedule tours of the center when possible.
  • Maintain monthly goals as directed by management.
  • Contact all prospects within 24 hours and record any contact or attempt of contact.
  • Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of service delivery to students; prepare related reports.
  • Assist in the development of new and revised policies and procedures affecting student recruitment.
  • Create networks with youth development agencies, one-stop agencies, churches, and community organizations for recruiting potential students.
  • Introduce labor market information to assist with career transition processes and analyze local career paths.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors and mentoring students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or Associate's degree in a related field with two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in outreach and admissions, preferably with Job Corps or other youth development programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with successful Job Corps outreach and admissions.
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends.
