About The Position

The Admissions Representative plays a crucial role in the patient admission process at Northfield Hospital & Clinics. This part-time position involves interviewing patients, collecting necessary personal and insurance information, and ensuring that all required documentation is completed accurately and efficiently. The representative serves as a key point of contact for patients upon their arrival, contributing to a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and professional phone skills.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Healthcare experience/medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts personal interviews to obtain required demographic and insurance information and enters it into the computer.
• Reviews pre-admission information for accuracy and completeness.
• Obtains required signatures on legal consents, insurance forms, and Medicare Rights forms.
• Scans documents appropriately onto patient accounts.
• Registers or transfers newborns, clinical, surgery, observation, recurring, and swingbed accounts as requested, both timely and accurately.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned, including filing, sorting mail, scanning, and stuffing of statements.
• Understands and handles the Emergency Response 'Codes' appropriately.
