About the position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Brookdale Pecan Park is responsible for managing the day-to-day healthcare operations of the assisted living community. This role ensures that residents receive quality care and that their healthcare needs are met with respect and dignity. The ADON will oversee nursing staff, provide training, and ensure consistent medication management while working the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10pm, Sundays through Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident's healthcare needs are met.
• Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change.
• Ensures consistent quality resident care and service delivery throughout all shifts; may assume the role of a Caregiver or Med Tech/Aide as needed.
• Assists in the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff, medication technicians/CMA's, and Caregivers, providing ongoing training and education.
• Oversees and manages the continuity and consistency of medication training, pharmacy management, and medication supervision/administration.
• Conducts periodic Care Associate medication skills inventory checks and medication audits per Brookdale Guidelines.
• Shares on-call duties as required.

Requirements

• Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN or RN).
• Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in nursing.
• LPN or LVN license.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior nursing experience as a DON / ADON, Unit Manager or Weekend Charge Nurse in skilled nursing, Hospital, Home Health, Hospice, Assisted Living or memory care.
