About the position

The Adoptions and Post Permanency Services Section Manager is responsible for overseeing the State's Adoption and Post Permanency program operations, including managing the Public Adoptions program, Adoption Assistance, and Medicaid for adopted youth. This role involves direct supervision of staff, statewide program planning, policy development, and fiscal management related to foster care and adoption services. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while contributing to the strategic goals of the Division of Safety & Permanence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the State's Adoption and Post Permanency program operations.
• Supervise an Adoption Services Supervisor, social service specialists, and program/policy analysts.
• Oversee statewide program planning and policy development.
• Administer Adoption Assistance and Medicaid for adopted youth.
• Coordinate with federal programs and ensure adherence to administrative rules and statutes.
• Manage contracts related to public adoptions and post permanency support services.
• Develop and implement training for adoptive parents.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility related to foster care, adoption, and subsidized guardianship.

Requirements

• Administrative experience in a relevant field.
• Supervising experience with professional staff.
• Project management experience in program settings.
• Experience administering programs within or adjacent to the child welfare system.
• Experience with administrative and fiscal responsibilities, including budget management and contracting.
