The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT) is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to oversee the Tourism Division's research program and manage the literature inventory and fulfillment process. This role is pivotal in analyzing and developing research methodologies that address the evolving needs of the tourism sector. The coordinator will serve as a consultant to tourism partners and vendors, ensuring that their research needs are met effectively. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the travel and tourism industries, as well as market research principles and statistical methodologies. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for conducting various research projects, monitoring the literature fulfillment process, and making recommendations to improve literature distribution. The coordinator will also develop and maintain research databases to ensure accuracy and relevance to the Division's information needs. Additionally, the coordinator will prepare detailed research reports and analyses for senior management and the Arkansas State Parks, Recreation and Travel Commission, and will be expected to present findings at meetings and conferences. The position also involves supervising a small team, which includes interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. The coordinator will develop and manage work plans and budgets to meet the section's goals and objectives. Furthermore, the role includes promoting the state's tourism industry by establishing relationships with trade operators and other organizations, leading collaborative partnerships, and representing the department at various tradeshows and meetings. A valid driver's license is required, and a driving record check will be performed.
