About the position

The Guild for Human Services is dedicated to educating, encouraging, and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to help them achieve their full potential and participate meaningfully in the community. The position involves providing training and support to residential staff, ensuring the implementation of behavior support plans, and assisting with behavioral assessments in various settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provides training and modeling of behavior support plan implementation for residential staff including evening, weekend and overnight staff
  • Assist with behavioral assessments at the homes and on community activities
  • Completes observations for behavior support plan implementation across shifts and residences as assigned by supervisor
  • Provides training and modeling to staff in PBS and healthy relationships
  • Complete QUIC (Quality of Universal Implementation Checklist) observations in each residence as assigned by supervisor
  • Assist residential managers in completing individual assessments, daily programming schedules and/or teaching strategies as directed by supervisor
  • Respond to calls for support received from on-call managers during evening and weekend hours
  • Act as a communication link to residential managers and associate directors regarding resident or staff issues as needed
  • Support houses and new staff during the onboarding process under the direction of residential clinician and residential manager
  • Ensure that a clean, safe, positive environment is provided when present in any residence
  • Must be flexible; easily able to move among residences during each shift based on needs of residents and/or staff
  • Able to develop rapport with staff and residents to effectively provide support during times of stress

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral/mental health challenges implementing behavior treatment plans
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Undergo background record check
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
