About the position

The Adult Clinician role at Actalent involves providing crisis intervention and counseling services to individuals facing emotional and physical distress, particularly those who are mentally ill, homeless, or struggling with substance use. The clinician will conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and maintain regular contact with participants to ensure effective support and advocacy. This position requires a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and collaboration with social service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provides crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.
  • Conducts diagnostic evaluations and makes referrals to Licensed Clinician for treatment.
  • Ensures adherence to infection control practices.
  • Makes referrals to outside programs for medical and/or psychological intervention.
  • Collects urine specimens for drug screening.
  • Provides counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol dependent, and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive customers.
  • Orients new patients to treatment programs.
  • Participates in treatment planning and individual and/or group counseling.
  • Identifies potential customers and provides them with information about the Agency programs.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive treatment plans with each participant, maintaining regular contact.
  • Completes required paperwork (including customer records) in a timely fashion while maintaining customer confidentiality.
  • Provides ongoing liaison, referral, and advocacy for participants with social service providers, emphasizing self-empowerment for participants to independently access needed services.
  • Participates in team meetings, seminars, and trainings as stipulated.
  • Participates with community providers as it relates to program content areas.
  • Provides presentations about programs to various agencies and other referring agencies on a monthly basis.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in social work or related field with a license (LADC, LMFT, LPC)
  • Three years related clinical experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use
