About the position

The Adult Education/Career Counselor/Workforce Development Specialist at 22nd Century Technologies, Inc. is responsible for providing career coaching and case management services to participants in the Road to Success in Virginia grant program. This role focuses on helping adult learners navigate career pathways, gain industry-recognized credentials, and develop essential soft skills through workshops and training. The position requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with participants and business partners, ensuring successful outcomes in employment and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide adult career coaching services and case management to participants in the Road to Success in Virginia grant program.
• Facilitate employment workshops, workplace readiness, and professional soft skills training.
• Provide information on careers, career pathways, and educational requirements aligned with targeted industry sectors.
• Assist participants in identifying training programs, applying for admission, and enrolling in coursework.
• Monitor students' training progress and provide ongoing coaching throughout the program.
• Provide placement and job-retention services to participants and collaborate with employers to resolve barriers to employment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 year of relevant work-related experience in adult learners' career counseling services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage, support, and motivate customers and business partners effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of training and coaching strategies effective for strengthening participants' soft skills.
• Working knowledge of the workforce development system and its operations.
