About the position
The adult education teacher provides instruction, supervision, and assessment of students enrolled in Neighbors' Educational Opportunities' (NEO's) Adult Education program.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver NEO's multi-leveled, integrated English language/Civic curriculum to a small group of adults for whom English is a second language
- Monitor, assess and document student performance and progress
- Conduct timely post-testing on students to measure progress
- Provide students with appropriate feedback and encouragement
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student information, testing, attendance and gains in InTERS and hard copies
- Conduct scheduled new student intake/registration
- Conduct weekly follow-up with students and their goals
- Supervise volunteers
- Attend and participate in assigned professional development and scheduled staff meetings
- Work collaboratively with assigned aides to attend to the needs of the students and program
- Coordinate services and programs with other providers, programs, and services as appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and Teaching license, preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (in education or related field) and two+ years teaching experience, considered
