About the position

The Adult Education Teacher for Information Technology is responsible for providing educational programs and teaching classes focused on Information Technology to adult learners. This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that adhere to established curriculum standards, ensuring compliance with educational requirements, and enhancing student skills in various aspects of Information Technology, including hardware and software. The teacher will also provide individualized instruction, evaluate student performance, and prepare students for certification examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an educational program within various aspects of Information Technology to adult learners.
  • Apply current research-based strategies to enhance student skills and knowledge.
  • Develop, implement, and present lesson plans according to established curriculum standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee student practices and assignments in the classroom.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction and tutoring to adapt to student needs.
  • Review, analyze, and integrate required instructional materials with lesson plans.
  • Distribute and collect student assignments; develop and administer tests; grade tests and maintain student records.
  • Evaluate student performance and administer assessments to adjust activities accordingly.
  • Prepare students for Information Technology Certification Examinations.
  • Participate in curriculum development programs and provide input on district-wide curriculum development.
  • Operate various office and classroom equipment and maintain a safe classroom environment.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and professional growth activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduate courses needed to meet credential requirements.
  • Verification of subject matter competence in Information Technology.
  • Holding one or more Information Technology certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, MTA).
  • A valid Career Technical Education (CTE) credential for Adult Education instruction or eligibility to apply upon hire.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
