About the position

The Adult Group Home Manager at HopeTree Family Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a DDM program, which includes managing Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The role emphasizes a person-centered approach, focusing on the growth and well-being of residents while providing leadership, training, and support to staff. The Manager is also tasked with compliance with regulations and policies, as well as fostering community engagement and collaboration among support networks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in a DDM program.
  • Coordinate services and supports for individuals receiving DDM services.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for residents.
  • Provide opportunities for individuals to maximize their growth in various aspects of life.
  • Model a person-centered philosophy and strengths-based approach.
  • Provide coaching, teaching, and mentoring to DSPs.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and activities that promote a positive environment.
  • Make independent decisions regarding best practices and quality assurance.
  • Promote rights and compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Organize and ensure timely assessments of individuals' needs.
  • Develop written reflections of goals and supports for individuals.
  • Ensure completion and review of required documentation and progress notes.
  • Coordinate hiring of Direct Support Professionals.
  • Schedule and manage medical appointments and health-related needs.
  • Reinforce skills learned by DSPs during medication administration training.
  • Conduct bi-weekly coaching meetings with DSPs and complete evaluations.
  • Plan and lead monthly team meetings to ensure communication among staff.
  • Ensure adequate coverage of the home 24/7, including providing direct support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD.
  • Supervisory experience in a Human Services or related field.
  • Exceptional leadership, emotional maturity, and patience to support individuals with IDD.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Core Competencies.
  • Ability to respond timely to on-call responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to represent the agency positively in the community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Intellectual and Development Disabilities (1 year preferred).
  • Supervisory experience in a Human Services setting (1 year preferred).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (25% preferred).
