About the position
The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for an Adult Probation Officer 1/2B located in Palmer, Alaska. In this role, you'll work directly with treatment providers, the Alaska Board of Parole, and other community agencies to support incarcerated individuals who are serving their time in the community on electronic monitoring. Your goal will be to help them successfully reintegrate into society while ensuring community safety. The Alaska Department of Corrections provides secure confinement, reformative programs, and a process of supervised community reintegration to enhance the safety of our communities. Our unit's goal is to promote public safety through supervision of offenders who are transitioning from prison to the community while placed at Community Residential Centers, treatment centers, or on Electronic Monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with treatment providers and community agencies.
- Support incarcerated individuals on electronic monitoring.
- Help individuals reintegrate into society.
- Ensure community safety through supervision.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
- Four years of paraprofessional experience in relevant fields.
- Must be 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen or National.
- Possess a valid driver's license issued within the U.S.
- Must pass a full criminal history check.
