About the position

The Adv Electrical Engineering Tech 2 position involves supporting engineering and operations teams in the design, testing, and fabrication of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment, particularly for defense and security technologies. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the successful assembly and functionality of complex systems, as well as conducting experiments to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and operations teams in design, testing, and fabrication of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment for defense and security technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to design, test, modify, and assemble prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics for assembly and testing tasks.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, and test various tools, equipment, and systems, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
  • Conduct and document statistically-based experiments to define process parameters and suggest process improvements.
  • Design and build basic tooling and fixtures to facilitate specialized tasks.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify cause/effect relationships, recommending solutions for process enhancement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of fabrication tools and ability to fabricate complex hardware.
  • Component-level troubleshooting skills with experience reading complex schematics.
  • Ability to solder and rework surface-mount components.
  • Solid knowledge of technical theory and practical application.
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist certification preferred.
