About the position

The Advanced Field Service Engineer II is responsible for the repair, maintenance, testing, and calibration of complex diagnostic imaging equipment and systems, including CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Angio Cath systems. The role focuses on maximizing patient safety through the proper operation of patient care equipment and involves a combination of technical skills, effective communication, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) according to hospital policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain, service, troubleshoot, and calibrate complex diagnostic imaging systems using manufacturer service manuals and vendor expertise.
  • Document all service events, performance tests, and corrective maintenance using computerized maintenance management software.
  • Order repair parts and submit order-related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist with projects related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and clinical staff regarding the status of repairs.
  • Work with imaging equipment service providers to facilitate efficient equipment installs and repairs.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements to PM schedule frequency and testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to travel between Baylor Scott and White facilities as assigned.
