About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer Leader - Wind will play a crucial role in overseeing the manufacturing process within the organization. This position is responsible for departmental operations planning and execution, focusing on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role operates with a degree of autonomy, guided by established policies and the review of end results. The Manufacturing Engineer Leader will define and control the production process, including tooling and equipment, and will validate design specifications and the application of new products, tools, or equipment on the shop floor. This includes collaboration with other Manufacturing Engineers to ensure seamless operations. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role includes direct people management responsibilities, encompassing staffing and performance development. The Manufacturing Engineer Leader will utilize their in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policies and strategies effectively. They will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of best practices and how their area integrates with others, as well as an awareness of the competition and the differentiating factors in the market. The position requires the use of judgment and the ability to propose alternative solutions outside of established parameters to address complex manufacturing processes that may involve technical variety and interdependent production cycles. The Manufacturing Engineer Leader will leverage multiple internal and limited external sources to make informed decisions, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
  • Manage departmental operations planning and execution.
  • Oversee staffing and performance development of team members.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines to execute policies and strategies.
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing problems effectively.
  • Lead programs and projects, documenting, planning, marketing, and executing them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical discipline).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
