Selldorf Architects is seeking an Advanced Architectural Designer to join their team in New York City. This role involves preparing architectural drawings and renderings, innovating design concepts, and collaborating with team members on complex projects. Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural drawings and renderings based on designs from others.
  • Innovate and create strong conceptual designs while integrating interdisciplinary criteria.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, and construction techniques.
  • Manage time and workload to meet project deadlines with guidance from project leaders.
  • Review work for design integrity, accuracy, precision, clarity, and quality with senior staff.
  • Perform design computations and conduct research while consulting with specialists.
  • Use established techniques and tools to prepare and correct construction documents and presentation drawings.
  • Inspect architectural features in the field against construction documents as needed.
  • Commit to learning about architecture and design, sharing knowledge with less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture required.
  • 3 to 6 years of architectural-related experience required.
  • Solid conceptual and design process skills with good problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with 3-D modeling programs including Rhino and Revit/Enscape.
  • Ability to communicate via hand sketching is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with project teams and consultants.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with accuracy and precision.
