About the position

The Advanced Automation & Analytics Engineer at Solvay is responsible for leading dynamic simulation projects to enhance asset performance and optimize operational costs within the Engineering and Construction department. This role involves translating business needs into actionable insights through on-site diagnostics, design, implementation, and commissioning of advanced process control and analytics projects. The engineer will also provide technical support and training to production sites, adopting a data-driven approach to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic simulation projects to support DCS functional tests and optimize processes.
• Translate business needs through on-site diagnostics and focus on design, implementation, and commissioning of projects.
• Provide technical support to production sites and train site engineers in optimization techniques.
• Adopt a data-driven approach to extract actionable insights from production data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a process control engineer.
• Ability to design and implement basic and advanced control schemes and complex sequence logic.
• Experience in leading and managing small projects.
• Exposure to DCS application development, preferably with Emerson, Honeywell, or Yokogawa.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Model Predictive Control & Inferential measures implementation.
• Familiarity with Aspen DMC3, OsiSoft PI, or AspenTech IP21.
• Experience with advanced analytics platforms like SEEQ.
