About The Position

The Advanced Data Scientist position at Honeywell focuses on leveraging data analytics to optimize business processes within the utilities industry. The role involves working collaboratively with software developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to extract value from product data, develop cloud-native software solutions, and enhance decision-making through data-driven insights. This hands-on position emphasizes model building, testing, and deployment, particularly in the context of IoT data and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 2 years of experience working with big data, IoT data, or time series data
  • 2 years of data science or data engineering experience
  • Experience with data ingestion, storage, batch, streaming analytics, and data processing
  • Familiarity with classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection techniques
  • Experience with time series techniques like ARIMA and dynamic time warping
  • Experience with Azure services including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concerns in cloud systems
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and micro-service architecture
  • Understanding of data modeling for warehousing and ETL processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data labeling and capture techniques
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps teams and continuous integration/delivery processes
  • Knowledge of software configuration management practices
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data use cases to inform design
  • Conduct data analysis and quality characterization
  • Prepare data including imputing missing values and feature extraction
  • Define and extract features for model building
  • Build, test, validate, and deploy models
  • Utilize AutoML or related technologies for model development
  • Implement complex rules and domain logic on data, especially for time series techniques
  • Code in Python, PySpark, Pandas, and SQL
