About the position

The primary purpose of the Advanced Network Application Engineer position at Honeywell is to deliver superior customer satisfaction through effective technical support and resolution of customer cases for the HPS System and Infrastructure line of business. This role is integral to the Global Technical Assistance Center (GTAC) team, which operates on a global scale to provide support for a defined set of products and technologies. The engineer will work closely with colleagues worldwide to solve technical problems and may be required to visit customer locations for critical site investigations. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for delivering remote support and services effectively, proactively managing and responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring compliance with all GSM processes for documentation and communication. Maintaining strong case documentation and following up to ensure that technical recommendations effectively resolve customer issues is crucial. The engineer will also support Honeywell affiliates by participating in customer meetings and will need to keep technically current with the Modsys systems portfolio. Additionally, the engineer will actively share knowledge and new findings with team members through the creation of knowledge articles, maintain proactive and timely communications with customers, and provide troubleshooting, research, and replication of customer-reported problems. The role also involves supporting product improvements, service training, and site installations by acting as the voice of the customer, initiating engineering change requests, and delivering premium services for all assigned customers. Meeting or exceeding the published Service Level Agreement (SLA) for response and resolution is a key performance indicator for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver remote support and services effectively.
  • Proactively manage and respond to customer questions, issues, and input accurately and within Service Level Agreement timing.
  • Comply with all GSM processes for documentation and customer communication.
  • Maintain strong case documentation and follow-up to ensure that technical recommendations effectively resolve customer issues.
  • Support Honeywell affiliates by participating in meetings with customers.
  • Keep technically current with the Modsys systems portfolio.
  • Actively share knowledge and new findings with other team members through periodic creation of knowledge articles.
  • Maintain proactive and timely communications, providing frequent and informative customer updates.
  • Provide troubleshooting, research, and replication of customer-reported problems and provide feedback to engineering.
  • Support product improvements, service training, and site installations by being the voice of the customer.
  • Initiate engineering change requests providing detailed descriptions of product faults, customer special requests, and product enhancements.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Deliver premium services for all assigned customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in an efficient and accurate manner, meeting or exceeding the published SLA for Response and Resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Experience in DCS systems, operations, or services support functions within the Industrial automation industry.
  • Experience with Honeywell Process Control systems is of value.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers, domain controllers, active directory services etc.
  • Experience in Cisco / Dell Hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with DELL Virtualization platforms like FX2, VXRail and Essential platforms.
  • CISCO Certified Network Associate or similar level networking certification.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining managed networking equipment, and firewalls.
  • Working experience with TCP/IP networks (network/device configuration, firewall administration).
  • Troubleshooting skills to resolve network, system, and application or system integration issues.
  • VMWare Certified Associate or direct working experience with Virtualization products.
  • Knowledge in Virtualized environments using VMWare ESXi hosts.
  • Systems and network hardening and audit compliance experience.
  • Antivirus solutions experience with centralized management (McAfee ePO, Symantec EPM).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Certification.
  • Troubleshooting experience on some of the following: Honeywell FTE Network Topology and Troubleshooting, DCS System: Honeywell Experion PKS, Domain Controller, Windows 7 / Windows 10 / Windows 2008 Server / Windows 2018 Server, Windows Update rollout, Cyber Security knowledge.
