About the position

The Advanced Application Engineer position at Honeywell is focused on delivering superior customer satisfaction through effective technical support for the HPS System and Infrastructure line of business. This role is integral to the Global Technical Assistance Center (GTAC) team, which provides support for a defined set of products and technologies. The engineer will work closely with colleagues globally to solve technical problems and may be required to visit customer locations for critical site investigations. The position emphasizes the importance of maintaining expert knowledge of the Experion PKS Client/Servers product line while keeping technically current with the broader HPS product and systems portfolio. In this role, the engineer will proactively manage and respond to customer inquiries, ensuring that issues are addressed accurately and within the established Service Level Agreement (SLA) timing. Strong case documentation and follow-up are essential to ensure that technical recommendations effectively resolve customer issues. The engineer will also support Honeywell affiliates by participating in customer meetings and actively sharing knowledge and new findings with team members through the creation of knowledge articles. The position requires effective communication with Honeywell developers to resolve customer issues and the ability to detect and report product defects in the supported products. The engineer will execute GTAC and other standard audit checklists and comply with all GSM processes for documentation and customer communication. This role is critical in maintaining proactive and timely communications with customers, providing frequent and informative updates regarding their cases. The position offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $140,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as various forms of paid leave and educational assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver remote support and services effectively.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on the Experion PKS Client/Servers product line.
  • Proactively manage and respond to customer questions and issues within SLA timing.
  • Maintain strong case documentation and follow-up to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Support Honeywell affiliates by participating in customer meetings.
  • Share knowledge and new findings with team members through knowledge articles.
  • Support through the follow-the-sun approach within the Global TAC organization or After Hour Emergency.
  • Work directly with Honeywell Developers to resolve customer issues.
  • Detect and report product defects in the supported products.
  • Maintain proactive and timely communications with customers, providing frequent updates.
  • Execute GTAC and other standard audit checklists.
  • Comply with all GSM processes for documentation and customer communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years' experience in system engineering, operations, or services support functions within the industrial automation industry.
  • 6+ years' experience with Honeywell process control systems.
  • 6+ years of experience with Experion PKS Controller family and related architecture (C200/C300; Series C I/Os; Universal I/Os; ACE; OPC Gateway; Ethernet IP; PCDI; ERDB/ControlBuilder/SQL; FDM/Fieldbus; UOC; ControlNet/DeviceNet/Profibus/HART; IEC 61850 integration with Experion; Control Strategies based on CM/SCM/RCM; Batch/Experion Batch Manager).
