About the position

As an Advanced Field Service Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in addressing some of the world's most significant challenges through the installation, upgrades, maintenance, and repair of complex process information and control systems. This position requires you to attain and maintain certifications in specific system types as assigned, ensuring that you are well-equipped to handle the technical demands of the role. You will work closely with Honeywell's Global Technical Support team to resolve customer issues effectively, acting as the primary point of contact for technical matters for your assigned customers. Building strong relationships with plant engineering and management personnel will be essential, as you will need to develop a deep understanding of their systems to provide the best possible service. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will take on a leadership role within the local service team. This includes mentoring and training less experienced personnel, fostering a collaborative environment where knowledge and skills can be shared. Your ability to communicate effectively and present technical information clearly will be vital in this role, as you will be responsible for coordinating technical support and providing training to customers and team members alike. Your contributions will not only enhance customer satisfaction but also support the overall growth and development of the service team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, upgrades, maintenance, and repair of complex process information and control systems.
  • Attain and maintain certifications in specific system types as assigned.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with Honeywell on technical matters for assigned customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with plant engineering and management personnel.
  • Build deep knowledge of customer systems.
  • Take a technical leadership role within the local service team.
  • Help train and mentor less experienced personnel.
  • Coordinate technical support and provide customer relations.
  • Order parts and software as needed.
  • Conduct system migrations and upgrades.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Honeywell control systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • At least two level 3 or higher Honeywell certifications, one of which must be level 4, or experience necessary to attain such certifications within six months.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
